In the shattered halls of ruined castles and forgotten thrones, the whispers of the Mad King linger. Once a ruler of great renown, his crown turned to a curse, and his reign fell into chaos. His laughter echoes down the stone corridors of memory, twisted and hollow, a dirge for the kingdom he destroyed with his paranoia and fury.

The adventurers arrive in a crumbling fortress where an empty throne sits at the heart of the great hall. But as they approach, a spectral echo of the Mad King appears—sometimes seated in his cursed throne, sometimes standing before it, challenging all who dare near. His madness infects the walls, shifting between illusion and reality. If the adventurers cannot break his curse, one of them may be tempted—or forced—to take his place upon the throne… and the cycle of ruin will begin anew.
